Have A Daily Cleaning Rhythm Or Routine
We don’t have hours in our day to devote to cleaning, and regularly deep cleaning is not an option, nor does that sound remotely enjoyable. And if you are on a budget, a house cleaner may not be an option.
So to avoid constantly having to deep clean your kitchen, you need a routine. You need to get in the habit of cleaning as you go.
- Rinse your dishes immediately after using them
- Wash one load of dishes every night
- Regularly wipe up spills on counters
- Always rinse the sink after using it
- Run the robot vacuum DAILY
It is easier to keep your kitchen clean by doing a little cleaning daily, then waiting till it’s horrendous and out of control and then have to spend hours deep cleaning the kitchen.
Store baby wipes in a drawer in the kitchen for a quick grab to clean up spills and light messes. Baby wipes are safe for kids to use, so encourage your kids to help clean up after themselves.

Kitchen Cleaning Hacks To Keep Counters Always Looking Clean
When you bring mail or papers in to the house, don’t just drop them on the counter and walk away. Have a routine or system for keeping counters free of clutter and papers.
Clean as you go when prepping or making meals so dishes and food don’t get left on the counter.
Don’t over crowd or clutter your counters with decor or items. Less can be more. Especially if you have a small kitchen and minimal counter space, make sure it’s functional and has counter space to use and move around.
Have your kids help
Team work makes light work. Teach your kids to help out with Dishes, clearing their plates after eating, wipe up their messes if they accidentally spill and help put food away that they get out.
Use a Clear Table Cover for your Dining room or Nook table to keep the table from getting destroyed from kids spilling or making messes.
This table cover has been a life saver for my family. We only have one large table, so it’s where ‘all the things’ happen. Meals, school projects, art, play doh, you name it, it’s been done at this table. I didn’t want to sacrifice having something nice, just because we have young kids, so this table cover has been amazing!
Organization Is Key For Keeping A Kitchen Clean
Do you walk in to your kitchen and you have no idea where anything goes? Nothing has a “home” or a set place. There are many things spread all over the counters. Putting away clean dishes doesn’t feel quick because all of the drawers are over flowing and disorganized?
Having an unorganized kitchen makes cleaning up and putting away dishes harder and take longer. It is easier to keep your kitchen clean when everything has a CONVENIENT location / place and is not over flowing with items. Kitchen items need to be easy to quickly grab, put away, and manage.
If your kitchen drawers and pantry are not organized, start by purging, donating or throwing away un-used items.
Once cleaned out, organize your refrigerator, cabinets and pantry using storage containers, baskets and bins.
Hide appliances in the pantry to keep your counters looking clean and not cluttered.
Store cleaning supplies and tools (broom, mop, oven cleaner, stainless steel cleaner) in a location close to your kitchen. You are more likely to clean as you go or clean up a mess right away if the supplies are close by and convenient.
