Prioritize the main living spaces that are most frequently used and seen by guests. This typically includes the living room, kitchen, and bathroom.

Focus on these areas first and make sure they are presentable.

  • Organize the coffee table
  • Do a quick vacuum or sweep of the floors, run the robot vacuum
  • Quick wipe down of the countertops
  • Put dirty dishes in the sink or in the dishwasher real quick
  • And fluffing throw pillows

Just these items alone can go a long way in making your home appear clean.

Do not stress over the rooms or areas that will not be used or seen. Close the doors to the rooms that you are not cleaning and don’t want guests to see.

Use the “laundry basket” method to quickly remove all of the clutter. Take a laundry basket, I love this foldable laundry basket, and sprint through the house throwing all of the clutter items, like unopened mail,  that don’t have a home in the laundry basket.

Then hide the laundry basket in the laundry room.

Run the robot vacuum to get crumbs off of the floor if you have kids, or pet hair if you have animals. Once larger items are off of the floor (I.e: socks, toys, papers) run the vacuum while you are finishing up the rest of the house.
