In this blog post, we will discuss some genius hacks and tips that will help you feel fulfilled as a SAHM.
Set Realistic Expectations
Feeling fulfilled as a SAHM begins with setting achievable expectations. Parenthood can be overwhelming, and you should not feel like you are not doing enough because you are not supermom.
Instead, focus on achievable goals that give you a sense of accomplishment. Be realistic and realize that the journey has its ups and downs.
Schedule Time for Yourself
Finding fulfillment in the SAHM role requires self-care, so scheduling time for yourself is essential.
It could be as simple as taking a 20-minute break and indulging in your hobbies such as reading, painting, or playing music.
You can also choose to work out, take a long bath, or join a mom’s group for socialization.
The point is to do something that makes you feel good about yourself, and remember you are doing something important for yourself, and there is no guilt in that.
For me having a set time each week really helped me. It gave me something to look forward to and I knew when things got hard that I had
Focus on the Positives
It’s quite easy to get bogged down by the challenges that come with the SAHM role. Instead of dwelling on what’s lacking, focus on the things you enjoy and the positives of your role.
Focus on your baby’s milestones and achievements, the memories you make together, and enjoy the special moments you share with your child.
I like to read and write down things I’m grateful and thankful for during my morning routine to help me start my day on the right foot with a positive attitude.
Stay Connected & Create Mom Friends to Feel Fulfilled
Being a SAHM can sometimes leave you feeling isolated and disconnected from the outside world. It’s crucial to find ways to stay connected with your friends and family.
Thankfully, technology has made this so much easier for us. You can connect with your loved ones via social media, text, and video calls. Plan playdates, meet other moms in your community, or join a mom’s club. Socializing with other moms will help you feel less alone, and opportunities will arise.
This was probably one of the biggest areas in my mom journey so far that has helped the most. I’ve always been involved in a MOPS program since my oldest was born. Having a community of moms who “get it”, who become long lasting friends is priceless and helps feel seen and heard in your motherhood journey.
Delegate Household Tasks
Being a SAHM means you have to manage your home and finances in addition to caring for your child. It can be overwhelming, but delegating household tasks and sharing the responsibilities with your partner will help avoid burnout. Share family duties like cooking, cleaning, and laundry, so you can take time to do what makes you happy.
