As the weather warms up and kids are spending more time outside, it’s the perfect time to invest in some big kid outdoor toys to keep them entertained and active.
From a fun family game of wiffle ball to jumbo Connect4, there are plenty of outdoor play to choose from for kids of all ages that will help your big kids stay active and off of devices and electronics.
During the summer months it is a priority for me to keep my kids busy and outside. With four kids ages 6-10, with a set of twins, backyard outdoor toys become a life saver for me as a SAHM.

We recently invested in some new outdoor toys and here is what we got:
1. Ladder Golf:
Ladder golf is a fun and entertaining outdoor game that is perfect for gatherings and parties. The game involves tossing bolas (two balls connected by a string) onto a ladder-like structure with different point values assigned to each rung. Players take turns trying to land their bolas on the rungs in order to earn points and ultimately be the first to reach a predetermined score. Ladder golf is easy to learn and can be enjoyed by people of all ages, making it a great addition to any backyard barbecue or weekend get-together.
2. Jumbo Backyard Connect4:
A backyard large Connect4 game is a fun and engaging way to bring friends and loved ones together for some friendly competition. Standing at over four feet tall, this oversized version of the classic game is perfect for outdoor gatherings and events. We have had so much fun as a family playing into the evening hours.

We have loved having a small backyard jungle gym for our kids to encourage climbing, coordination and strength. The one we have (and loved) is not huge, so very safe but still provides a lot of fun. It’s also easy to move around on and off the grass.
8. Basketball Hoop:
Another popular outdoor toy for older kids is a basketball hoop. Whether you have a dedicated basketball court in your yard or for the pool, shooting hoops is a great way for kids to stay active with physical activity. Plus, it’s a fun way to get some friendly competition going with siblings or friends.
Another fun outdoor activity for big kids is a climbing wall. This can be a standalone structure in your yard or attached to a playset, and provides a challenging and engaging way for kids to build strength and coordination while having fun. Just make sure to supervise younger children who may not have the skills or strength to climb safely.
